Who may apply

The Programme is addressed mainly, but not exclusively, to graduates of Departments of a School of Management and Economics and of related scientific fields, of Higher Education Institutions in Greece or of recognised equivalent institutions abroad. The number of admitted students is set at a maximum of forty per year.

Final-year students may also submit an application, provided that they successfully complete their undergraduate obligations before the close of enrolment and meet the admission requirements.
Qualifications obtained abroad are recognised in accordance with the institutional framework in force (Law 4957/2022, Articles 297-316, 442-444 and 479-481; previously by means of a certificate of equivalence and correspondence from the Hellenic NARIC (DOATAP)).
Applicants from abroad are required to have a command of the Greek language, evidenced by secondary education in Greece or at a Greek-language school abroad, by a degree in Greek philology, by a completed or two-year cycle of undergraduate studies at a Greek institution, or by a certificate of competence from a state-recognised body.
One member of the Special Teaching Staff (EEP), Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP) or Special Technical Laboratory Staff (ETEP) categories of the Department may enrol as a supernumerary student, one per year.

Selection criteria

The file of each applicant is scored on the basis of the criteria below. The criteria and their scoring may be adjusted with each call for applications.

The score for a foreign language does not exceed 10%, irrespective of the number of certificates. Likewise, other undergraduate qualifications do not exceed 5%, and the same applies to postgraduate qualifications in relation to their own upper limit.

Supporting documents

Applicants submit to the Secretariat of the Programme the following supporting documents, in copies certified in accordance with the law:

Application and declaration of enrolment, on the special form of the Secretariat, which also includes an identity photograph.
A detailed curriculum vitae, on the special form of the Secretariat and as an electronic file.
A copy of the degree with a detailed transcript of marks for all years.
Two letters of recommendation.
Copies of publications, where these exist.
Other degrees or postgraduate qualifications from Higher Education Institutions, where these exist.
Certificates of knowledge of foreign languages. Applicants from abroad certify, in addition to English, their knowledge of the Greek language.
Other certificates, for example of professional experience, for items mentioned in the curriculum vitae.
A photocopy of an identity card or passport.

Selection procedure

The checking and evaluation of the files is carried out by a selection committee appointed by the Department Assembly, which makes a recommendation to the Coordinating Committee. The evaluation is completed in three phases:

Checking of the formal qualifications of the applicants.
Scoring of the supporting documents, from which the order of ranking results.
An interview, which may be held and which focuses on knowledge of the subjects of the Programme and on matters of personality.

The ranking table of successful applicants is approved by the Department Assembly and posted on the website of the Programme. The procedure is completed in September or October, unless the Coordinating Committee decides otherwise. Successful applicants confirm their enrolment within ten days of the publication of the table; in the event of refusal, the first candidate on the reserve list is called. Appeals are submitted to the Secretariat within three working days of the announcement of the results and are examined by the Coordinating Committee, with the final decision taken by the Department Assembly.

Tuition fees

Tuition fees amount to €2,900 per student and are paid in three instalments: €1,000 on enrolment and, at the start of the following semesters, €1,000 and €900. The first instalment is paid within fifteen days of notification and acceptance of the place, into an account of the Special Account for Research Grants (ELKE) of the University, indicated by the Secretariat. The Director of the Programme may, following an application by the student, approve further facilitation of the instalments.

Exemption from fees

In accordance with Article 86 of Law 4957/2022, enrolled students may be exempted from tuition fees, provided that they meet the financial or social criteria laid down by law. A precondition is performance in the first cycle of studies, with a degree mark equal to or higher than 7.5 out of 10. Those exempted may not exceed 30% of the total number of admitted students, and the exemption applies to participation in one postgraduate programme only. The exemption concerns tuition fees exclusively and its terms are laid down by law; should the legislation be amended, this possibility changes accordingly.

Call for applications

The categories of applicants, the required qualifications, the method and criteria of evaluation, as well as the dates for the submission of applications, are laid down by the call for expressions of interest in force at any given time, which is published on the website of the University and of the Department.
