Learning outcomes

The Business Valuation, Mergers and Acquisitions course seeks to give students an understanding of, and familiarity with, both the methods of valuing the products and goods of an undertaking and the methods of valuing and measuring the value of the undertakings themselves. Contemporary theories in this field are analysed. Students will also come to understand valuation methods and their application to undertakings and banks
Through continuous attendance and successful examination, students are expected to understand the importance of valuation in taking financial decisions, such as mergers and acquisitions, and when these are profitable in the short and the long term. Students will also be in a position to apply valuation methods and to use their contemporary tools at both a theoretical and a practical level, through the detailed presentation of cases

Assessment

Assessment is carried out in two ways: the preparation of assignments, counting for up to 30% of the total mark — the structure and presentation of the text, the quality of the analysis and the bibliographical references are taken into account above all — and a written final examination, counting for 70%. Language of assessment: Greek.
